Mumbai: The government on Thursday said loudspeakers, firecrackers, and musical instruments will not be allowed in silence zones in the city.
“As per the categorisation by the government, hospitals, educational institutes, religious places, and courts fall under silence zones. Loudspeakers, firecrackers, and musical instruments will be banned for 24 hours,” a statement said. It further said any area other than the silence zones will be allowed to use loudspeakers and musical instruments from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. after taking permission.
