Symbiosis defeats Vidya Niketan 3-0, enters Rd 2

PUNE: Symbiosis Secondary School defeated Yashwantrao Chavan Vidya Niketan, Yerwada 3-0 in the first round of the Under-14 category matches of the Zilla Parishad football tournament being played at the PDFA football ground in Dobarwadi on Thursday.

Sarthak Pawar from Symbiosis Secondary School scored the opener in the 18th minute while Neel Dhembe scored the second goal in the 21st minute. 

Aditya Ghanwat struck in the 24th minute as the Symbiosis boys walked away with a 3-0 win.

In another encounter, Orchid School, Bhavani Peth defeated YMCA Maharashtra English Medium School 3-0. Usman Khan from Orchid School struck twice in the 19th and 24th minutes while Arfad Memon added one goal to the tally in the 20th minute.

Also registering a victory was City International School from Kothrud who defeated opponents RNDE School from Kalas with the score reading 1-0. 

Suhad Dhan scored the lone goal in the 21st minute to help City International enter the next round.
