Celebrating the apex court’s verdict decriminalising consensual same-sex acts, jubilant LGBT community members held a march in Kochi on Thursday.
In a cortège of around 50 members, the march began from Vanchi Square near the Kerala High Court and ended at the Rainbow Bridge at Marine Drive. The group marched the entire stretch shouting slogans hailing the SC order.
The events on the day began with a meeting in which several LGBT activists spoke. During the march, members of the parade danced, waved rainbow flags and colourful balloons, took selfies, and shared the joy of being able to express their true selves.
