Souths take on Storm in NRL finals opener

We'll be back to do it all again for a triple header - the first ever game of Women's NRL action, before two men's finals games.

Here's Phil Lutton's take on that game, we'll see you tomorrow. 

An amazing game comes to an end. The Rabbitohs looked like they were going to win in Melbourne for the first time ever, but a wild last few minutes saw the Storm pull a win out of nowhere. 

They will host a preliminary final, and the Bunnies now need to win at home against either the Dragons or Broncos next week to get to week three against either the Sharks or Roosters. 

The Bunnies need to somehow create something form right on their own line - Sutton's pass goes to ground and that's it! 

Vunivalu claims it and then at the end of the set, Souths have it needing to go 90 metres with two to go...and Sam Burgess' miracle pass is dived on by Cam Smith! Game over, you would think. 

The Storm lead 29-28! A brilliant play from the five-eighth creates a line break for Slater, before he buries the drop goal on the last.

Three to go - can Souths hit back? 

What. A. Game. Addo-Carr makes a break down the left after a crazy offload on the other side by Vunivalu, and then has the presence of mind to kick back in-field! 

Blair gets a great bounce and goes over next to the posts - we're all tied up again! 

Smith converts and it's 28-28 with four to go. 

Unbelievable! Souths re-take the lead, an uncharacteristic missed tackle in the line sees the young forward break through and score! 

Reynolds converts and with seven minutes to go, it's 28-22 to Souths! 

After a long Reynolds kick, the Storm try a bit of trickery from the return but the winger's pass to his fullback is ruled forward! 

I'm not sure it was, but Souths have a scrum ten out! 

Silly from Gagai, who held on way too long in the tackle - gifting the Storm a fresh set. 

They immediately take adavantage, Cheyse Blair sliding over and we're all square with a kick to come! 

Smith pushes it wide so it's 22-22 with 12 to go!
