GURUGRAM: Two traffic cops were awarded on Friday for going the extra mile to ensure commuters’ safety after heavy rain.
A video went viral on Wednesday, showing assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Hansraj collecting mud from the side of a footpath and using the same to level a pit on the road which could have led to accidents.

A city resident, Ashish Chaudhary, made a video of the ASI posted at the Sector 4-7 chowk and uploaded it on Twitter, tagging Gurugram police. The video became an instant hit among residents who insisted civic authorities and officials take lessons from the ASI.

Elsewhere, pictures of constable Vikram in which he is seen using a hoe to level a cave-in at Basai Chowk also surfaced.

Taking cognisance of the two cases, police commissioner K K Rao awarded both with a first-class commendation certificate and Rs 5,000 in cash. “Our cops have left all speechless. They turned into human cranes to keep the city going despite waterlogging,” said Rao.
