The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) supremo and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao would be addressing his first public meeting to formally launch election campaign, at Husnabad on Friday.
The meeting, named as Prajala Asheervada Sabha, is the beginning of 100 such public meeting that the Chief Minister is expected to address across the State in 50 days.
Mobilising public
Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao and Finance Minister Eatala Rajender are on the job, mobilising the public.
About 65,000 public meetings at mandal level have already been organised on September 5 and 6. It has been decided that 15,000 people from Husnabad town and mandal, 10,000 each from Bhimadevarapally, Akkannapet, Koheda and Saidapur, and 6,000 from Chigurumamidi would be mobilised. Gangula Kamalakar, Rajender, Putta Madhu, Vidyasagar Rao, Harish Rao, Vinod Kumar and Paturi Sudhakar Reddy are in charge for the programmes.
Ticket lost, gained
P. Babumohan, who represented Andol assembly constituency, lost the TRS nomination to journalist Chanti Kranti Kumar. Mr Babumohan was in news several times over objectionable behaviour with officials and party workers. All the other sitting MLAs in the erstwhile Medak district were nominated by Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) supremo and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao at Hyderabad on Thursday.
Chandrasekhar Rao will be contesting from Gajewl, followed by T. Harish Rao from Siddipet, S Ramalinga Reddy from Dubbak, Husnabad V. Satish Kumar (Siddipet district), Chinta Prabhakar from Sangareddy, M. Bhupal Reddy from Narayanakhed, Chanti Kranthi Kiran from Andol, Gudem Mahipal Reddy from Patancheru (Sangareddy district), M Padma Devender Reddy from Medak and Ch. Madan Reddy from Narsapur.
Formidable challenge
At Zaheerabad assembly constituency which is represented by Congress MLA J Geeta Reddy, the ruling party had taken up several development works. It was stated that the party was looking for a strong candidate who can taken on Geeta Reddy.
