Under the hood, the 2019 Continental GT features an upgraded 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 that now makes 626 horsepower (466 kilowatts) and 664 pound-feet (897 newton-meters). Among the improvements, the engine receives a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, and tech like stop-start, coasting, and cylinder deactivation provides a boost in fuel economy. To make this setup work, the engine management software has to perform 300 million calculations per second.

The upgraded mill hooks up to a new eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

The powertrain gets the coupe to 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in 3.7 seconds and to a top speed of 207 mph (333 kph).
