JALANDHAR: Punjab education minister O P Soni on Wednesday announced reinstatement of all teachers suspended in the last two years. He was here to attend a state-level function on Teachers’ Day in which teachers with good performance were also honoured.

The minister said that he had asked education secretary Krishan Kumar, who also flanked the minister, to reinstate the teachers suspended for any reason.

Soni said the department would also try to withdraw the FIRs against those teachers who were not facing serious charges.

The minister said model schools would be established in every district and first would come up in Jalandhar. As the function was organized in the auditorium of a private school, he said he wanted that in future at least model schools would also have their own auditoriums.
