PATNA: Two unidentified bike-borne criminals shot dead Sudeep Prasad alias Rocky (25) near Padri Ki Haveli under the Khajekala police station area in the state capital on Tuesday night.
It was the second murder in the area in less than 24 hours. On Monday night, jeweller Ritesh Kumar (36) was shot dead by unidentified criminals at Sheikh Ka Roza under the Khajekala police station area.
Khajekala SHO Vinay Kumar said Sudeep was parking his bike in a garage hardly 200 metres away from his residence when two bike-borne criminals shot him dead at a close range. Several cases of dacoity and loot were lodged against him with Chowk and Alamganj police stations, he said.
Meanwhile, Raja and Chandan, both in early 20s, were arrested on Tuesday night in Ritesh murder case. “They said at least three others were involved in the murder after enjoying a liquor party,” he said.
100 cops attached to police lines: On the order of DIG (central range) Rajesh Kumar, all police personnel of Kadamkuan, Gardanibagh and Naubatpur police stations were attached to the police lines on Wednesday for their poor performance. Only Gardanibagh SHO Pankaj Kumar was spared.
Patna SSP Manu Maharaaj said new personnel would be posted at these police stations in two to three days.
