Rainfall is expected across most parts of the country while snowfall has been predicted for parts of the southern high ground as the cold front moves further across the country on Friday.
Warnings
Heavy rain leading to localised flooding is expected along the coastal areas of the Eden District of the Western Cape as well as the coast and adjacent interior between Plettenberg Bay and Port Elizabeth.
Disruptive snowfalls are expected over the Swartberg and the Outeniqua mountains of the Eden District of the Western Cape as well as the Sneeuberg, Kouga and Tsitsikamma mountains of the Eastern Cape.
Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Limpopo.
Special Weather Advisories
An intense cut off low is expected to affect parts of the Western Cape, Northern Cape and Eastern Cape over the next few days.
The public and small stock farmers have been advised that very cold conditions and snowfalls on the high ground are expected.
Rain
Most parts of the country are expected to have isolated showers and thundershowers.
There is a possibility of heavy rain and localised flooding along the Eden District coast of the Western Cape and adjacent interior of the western half of the Eastern Cape.
Snowfalls are expected over the high ground with possible disruptive snowfall over the Swartberg and Outeniqua mountains from the afternoon.
Light snowfalls are expected on the high ground of the eastern half of the Eastern Cape, as well as possible snowfalls on the Roggeveld mountains of the Northern Cape.
Only the lowveld of Mpumalanga and Limpopo, along with the northern and eastern parts of the Northern Cape are expected to be dry.
Temperatures
Minimum temperatures are expected to be cold across the southern and western parts of the country, while moderate conditions are expected in the northern and eastern parts of the country.
The coldest place will be Sutherland in the Northern Cape, dropping to a below-freezing -1°C.
Maximum temperatures are expected to be warm in the upper central interior and hot to very hot in the northern parts of the country.
Cold conditions are expected in the western and southern parts of the country, with very cold temperatures along the southern border of the Northern Cape.
The warmest places will be Skukuza in Mpumalanga and Phalaborwa in Limpopo, reaching a high of 38°C.

Pretoria is expected to reach a high of 29°C, Johannesburg a high of 27°C and Bloemfontein a maximum of 15°C.
Along the coast, Cape Town and Port Elizabeth are expected to reach a high of 15°C, while Durban is expecting a maximum of 22°C.
