Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, In the 52nd ISSF World Championship being held in South Korea from 31st August to 15th September 2018, talented shooter of MP State Shooting Academy, Manisha Keer displayed her best performance to win a silver medal, while matching the world record.
Manisha has become the first shooter to win a silver medal in ISSF World Championship, which is held after every 4 years. She scored 41 points in the final of the 52nd ISSF World Championship, but Italy’s shooter took the edge in a close shoot-off round.
Girls are making the state proud
Expressing her happiness, Hon’ble Yashodhara Raje Scindia, the Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare, congratulated Manisha Keer for her world-class performance in the championship.
She said that MP’s daughters are proving their mettle at the world stage and their ability to win the world if they are groomed with right guidance and high-level facilities. She appreciated Manisha’s tremendous willpower and skills and said that she hope Manisha will bring new laurels to India and the state.
Dr. S.L. Thaosen, the Director of Sports and Youth Welfare, also applauded Manisha on this feat. He said that an international-level academy has been set up in Bhopal on the initiative of Hon’ble Sports Minister.
The athletes are being provided world-class facilities through this academy. As a result, the athletes are performing superbly at the international-level and making the country proud.
It is worth mentioning that Manisha has been training at the Madhya Pradesh Shooting Academy under Chief Coach and Technical Advisor Mr. Mansher Singh.
