Hitting out at the BJP-ruled Central government over the hike in Delhi Metro fares this year, the Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday asked whether the seven BJP MPs of Delhi had raised the issue in Parliament.
The AAP was reacting to a Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) report released on Tuesday.
The report said the Delhi Metro was the second most unaffordable metro system in the world among cities that charge less than half a US dollar for a trip of less than 10 km.
At a press conference, AAP national secretary Pankaj Gupta said the ridership of the Metro had reduced from 39.5 lakh a day to 27 lakh after the hike in fares, showing that it had become out of reach for many people.
