39th Foundation Day of Mangalore University on September 10

MANGALURU: Mangalore University will celebrate its 39th Foundation Day and Teachers Day at the Mangala auditorium on its Mangalagangothri campus on September 10. Anup K Pujari, visiting professor, Harvard University and former secretary to union government will deliver the foundation day lecture. Kishore Kumar C K, vice-chancellor (in-charge) of the university will preside, stated A M Khan, registrar (administration) here.

The university will honour M Abdul Rahiman, former vice-chancellor, Calicut and Kannur universities, S N Hegde, former VC, University of Mysore, P G Chengappa, former VC, University of Agricultural Sciences, Raju B Shetty, alumnus and film director and Gururaj, alumnus and Commonwealth Games medallist for their contribution to the field of education, culture and sports. Best teacher awards will also be conferred on this occasion.

The foundation day programme will be followed by folk dance and folk orchestra that students of various colleges of Mangalore University will present.
