The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Sub-Regional Office, Mangaluru, has said that for super-speciality treatment of its beneficiaries, it can finalise the tie-up only with with hospitals which responded to the newspaper advertisement for empanelling with the ESIC.
Responding to the demand made at a press conference in Udupi on August 29 by the Mahiti Seva Samithi, an NGO in Udupi, for an ESIC super-speciality hospital in Udupi, the corporation said in a release here on Wednesday that Adarsha Hospital in Udupi has been empanelled for super-speciality treatment.
“Further, one more advertisement was issued for empanelling more hospitals in Udupi area in July 2018, the finalisation of which is currently under progress,” S. Sivaramakrishnan, director, in-charge, ESIC, Sub-Regional Office, Mangaluru said.
He said the corporation has ensured utmost transparency in all spheres of its administration. There has not been any complaint of corruption. If there are any, they may be brought to the notice by stakeholders. Any specific complaint of corruption in ESI dispensaries/ hospital, would be referred to the ESI Directorate, Department of Labour, State government for necessary action.
The release said wherever any complaint regarding demand of payment for medical treatment by the tie-up hospitals was received by the office, suitable action has been taken. All patients who are referred by ESI dispensary/ ESI hospital are entitled for cashless treatment, as per the MoU entered into by the ESI State Directorate.
