“You dare touch any girl in Maharashtra and see that you will have to face me. The people in whose party are making these statements should remember this.”said NCP leader Supriya Sule.
Nationalist Congress Party Chief Supriya Sule has now waded in to the row over a BJP MLA Ram Kadam threatening to ‘kidnap’ girls if they reject a marriage proposal of boys.

“You dare touch any girl in Maharashtra and see that you will have to face me. The people in whose party are making these statements should remember this.”said NCP leader Supriya Sule.

“It is black day in a progressive state like Maharashtra if an elected representative of the ruling party is talking about kidnapping girls and women. The state has not seen such a black chapter ever.”said sule. The NCP leader was speaking in Indapur in Baramati while addressing a rally.

Sule also slammed Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for his silence on the issue. “ The Chief Minister should have publicly condemned the statement. He should have apologised for the statement given by his MLA. If you can’t condemn the statement then take action against the MLA, file a case against him.”said Sule.

Kadam an MLA from Ghatkopar during the Gokulashtami celebrations while addressing his supporters said that they could call him for whatever help they want. Giving out his personal mobile number Kadam said that if a boy has proposed to the girl and she has rejected the proposal.

All the guy needs to do is to get his parents and if they say they like the girl then he would ‘kidnap’ the girl and hand it over to the boy. Kadam’s statement has led to an outrage across Maharashtra with even Ministers in his own government condemning his statement. The BJP which initially backed the MLA has now kept a studied silence.
