Madurai city police have booked J. Vivek, alias Maoist Vivek, on the charge of attempting to disrupt law and order and to instigate people to take up naxalism.
The Tallakulam police on Wednesday booked him for his May 2018 post on Facebook with regard to May 22 police firing in Thoothukudi where 13 persons were killed.
He was booked under Section 505 (1) (b) of Indian Penal Code for making statements conducing to public mischief with intent to cause, or which is likely to cause fear or alarm to the public, or to any section of the public whereby any person may be induced to commit an offence against the State or against the public tranquillity.
The Facebook post said that the Parliamentary democracy in the country was fake and hailed naxalism.
