CPM State secretary and Bahujan Left Front (BLF) State convenor Thammeneni Veerabadhram alleged the TRS government of dissolving the State legislative assembly for selfish political gain, at the cost of State exchequer.
Talking to newsmen here on Thursday, he said the dissolution of the Assembly does not benefit the people. Rather it is a burden on the State exchequer when Assembly and Lok Sabha were to be held separately with a gap of three months from each other, he added. He also spoke in favour of joint elections of both the Assembly and Lok Sabha to save the public money.
Refuting the claims that the BLF or CPM were joining the grand alliance of the Congress, TDP, CPI and other parties, he said they would not join the proposed grand alliance and contest elections individually from all the 119 Assembly seats and allocate 60 seats to BCs. However, they are likely to forge an alliance with Jana Sena Party of film star Pawan Kalyan after holding consultations in a week’s time, given the ideological similarity with each other, he stated.
He said the TRS and the Congress were similar in terms of promoting the Velama and Reddy communities respectively. “We want a casteless society which is possible only with BLF”, he said. He alleged that the TRS government had neglected the SC\ST and BC sub-plan during its tenure. He also said that the TRS had attained distinction in the State by not appointing a woman in the cabinet.
‘Conduct inquiry’
To a query, he demanded that the Election Commission conduct an inquiry into the deletion of more than 21 lakh voters from the list in Hyderabad city and another 30,000 voters in Karimnagar assembly segment.
CPM district secretary G. Mukund Reddy was also present.
