Nagpur: The team of Railway Protection Force (RPF), Central Railway, which helped a woman passenger get back her valuables worth Rs10.25 lakh, was felicitated by the
chairman of the
Railway Board at Rail Bhavan in New Delhi on Wednesday. Director General of Police,
RPF, Dharmendra Kumar too praised the efforts of the Nagpur-based team.
RPF, Central Railway, had recovered a woman’s valuables left behind in an autorickshaw last week. The woman had arrived in the city by Chennai-New Delhi Rajdhani Express. She, along with family, had taken an autorickshaw from the porch outside platform number one. After getting off from the rickshaw, the woman had gone inside her house, leaving the luggage, which had the valuables, in the three-wheeler.
RPF staffers had identified the rickshaw driver with the help of CCTV footage after the woman and her family approached them for help. The rickshaw driver was summoned to the railway station with the luggage containing the valuables. The valuables were handed over to the woman.
The entire effort was supervised by Senior divisional security commissioner Jyoti Kumar Satija. Sub-inspectors Hotilal Meena and Rajesh Autkar too contributed in the efforts under Satija along with ASI Sitaram Jat. The RPF personnel were presented with memento and cash Rs5,000. The certificate given to the RPF personnel praised Satija for his motivational leadership.
