People fed up with TRS government, says Laxman

It is up to the Election Commission to decide on when the elections will be held in Telangana although Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has the powers and majority to take a decision to dissolve the Assembly and his government, said BJP Telangana president K. Laxman on Wednesday.

“KCR can seek early polls but his power and authority ends there. After that it is up to the Governor, President and other constitutional authorities to decide whether there will be a caretaker government or Governor’s Rule. Whatever he thinks will happen need not happen,” he asserted, talking to presspersons after inducting a few TRS leaders into the party.

Mr. Laxman demanded the Chief Minister explain why he had to take a ‘U’ turn on holding simultaneous polls across the country just a few months back on a suggestion made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“He has the responsibility to explain to Telangana people why he wants to seek elections six months earlier,” he said and proclaimed that the citizens were already fed up with the TRS rule and whether elections are held on schedule or before, the defeat of the ruling party was certain.

This has become apparent after the recent public meeting and TS people feel cheated with the dictatorial TRS rule and for not fulfilling the promises made during the last election. “People no longer trust in KCR or his oratory skills,” he observed. The sudden bout of Cabinet meetings was only to entice people with pre-poll sops and one particular meet was held just to hand over expensive government land to the Majlis Party, he charged.

Amit Shah campaign

National president Amit Shah will personally kick off the party’s election campaign in TS with a public meeting in Mahabubnagar next week, he said, once again reiterating that the party will go it alone with no alliances.

Modalities of the campaign will be decided during the national executive meeting to held later this week. There will be two public meetings per constituency and national leaders are expected to participate, he added.
