GURUGRAM: Three police teams have been formed to arrest a Tajnagar resident who allegedly hacked his father to death over a property dispute on Tuesday and is on the run. Investigations have revealed the murder was pre-meditated.
Hari Prakash (26), allegedly killed Amarjeet Singh (48) and dumped his body in front of an SUV near their house in Tajnagar. He then called his younger brother Yogesh, claiming Amarjeet had met with an accident, and fled the spot.

The post-mortem report has revealed that Amarjeet had been brutally thrashed with both blunt and sharp objects, leading to over 20 wounds and several fractures. “The man was not attacked just with a sharp weapon like an axe, but also blunt ones like sticks, which led to multiple scars and injury marks. The bones of both his feet were broken at several points,” said forensic expert Dr Deepak Mathur, who conduct the post-mortem on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, police investigation has revealed the murder was not impulsive but a well-planned act, and the accused had worked out everything, from how to commit the murder to how to destroy the evidence and make it look like an accident. He had also discussed his plans with some friends.

On Tuesday, Amarjeet had gone to the fields to check on his tubewell. Hari went there with his friends and allegedly killed his father, later dumping the body in front of an SUV to make it look like an accident.

“We have received some vital clues. Some of Hari’s friends were also involved in the murder. The SUV has been seized. We’re zeroing in on the accused and hope to nab them soon,” said inspector Mukesh Kumar, SHO of Farrukhnagar police station.

The father and son reportedly had a tussle over 5 acres of land. Police said Amarjeet’s left thumb bore ink marks, leading to suspicions that Hari had taken his father’s thumb impression on some property documents after killing him. Amarjeet’s mother Rampiyari claimed she had seen Hari breaking the lock of an almirah and taking out some papers and Rs 10,000 in cash, before leaving the house in haste.

“It was pre-planned murder, and the main suspect is Amarjeet’s elder son. It was due to a property dispute. Our teams are conducting raids and the accused will be arrested at the earliest,” said Veer Singh, ACP (Pataudi).
