Vadodara: Not satisfied with their scores in the class XII science examination this year, 23 students from the city have decided to retake the test.
The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) had in November last year announced that students who were not satisfied with their class XII science marks could take the examination again. According to sources, 23 students from the city have surrendered their marksheets as they are not satisfied with their scores in the examination which was held in March this year.
Across the state, there are 180 such students who have surrendered their marksheets.
According to rules, students were required to submit their mark sheets within three months from the date of the declaration of the results. The results were declared in early May. The policy of allowing students to retake the exam is not new. It was in place before the GSHSEB introduced the semester system for class XI and XII science stream.
Officials suggest that whenever students seek to surrender mark sheets, the board counsels them. If the students are firm in their decision, they are allowed to go through the process.
