LUDHIANA: Reacting to the issue of increasing
petrol and diesel prices, Ludhiana MP
Ravneet Singh Bittu the
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) leaders will go to New Delhi and hold protests against the NDA government at the centre, rather than wasting their time by holding protests against the Punjab government.
In a press statement issued on Tuesday evening he said, "If both SAD & BJP really care about the common man, then they should "hurry without wasting any time" and hold protests on the streets of New Delhi against the Modi government. Due to the anti-people policies of
Narendra Modi led government at centre, the Petrol and Diesel prices in the country have touched an all-time high while situation in the country seems much worse, with the rupee falling against dollar and fuel prices touching an all-time high. The value of rupee is falling down rapidly with every passing day and i would not be surprised if it touches Rs 100 per dollar in the coming days, besides even the price of petrol might touch Rs 100 per litre."
Ludhiana MP also added, "Its sad that the Union government is exporting petrol and diesel at cheaper prices (as compared to prices in India). Petrol and diesel are available in India in Rs 78-Rs 86 range and Rs 70-Rs 75 range respectively, but an RTI reply has revealed that the government is selling petrol to 15 countries at just Rs 34 per litre and diesel to 29 countries at Rs 37. This is how the government has betrayed and backstabbed the people of India,”
Bittu also asked the SAD and BJP leaders of the state to question their counterparts at centre on the issue as BJP had promised to cool down petrol and diesel prices in its manifesto but now they are trying to justify the steep, record-breaking prices of petro-products. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policies are sinking India’s economy while finance minister
Arun Jaitley was busy writing long-winding blogs to score political points.
