Prior to leaving the Vijay Sankalp rally held in Pachpadra, Congress leaders gave a message to the party workers in Jodhpur on Wednesday that the upcoming assembly elections will be fought under the leadership of party president Rahul Gandhi. The Congress leaders left in a bus for Pachpadra to show their unity to party workers.

The bus was turned into a chariot, in which Congress national general secretary Ashok Gehlot and state president Sachin Pilot sat next to each other. Apart from this, senior leaders like CP Joshi, national general secretary and party affairs in-charge for Rajasthan Avinash Pandey, Leader of Opposition in assembly Rameshwar Dudi, former Pali MP Badriram Jakhar and many senior leaders also left for Pachpadra.

In the hometown of former CM Gehlot, all the leaders started gathering at a private hotel in the morning. All the leaders had breakfast at the same table. A Congress worker said that there were no mutual differences in the party. “The elections will be fought under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and the elected MLAs will choose their leader,” former party state president CP Joshi said while interacting with the media.

Gehlot said that the Vijay Sankalp Rally organised by the Congress has been successful so far. “There is tremendous resentment among the public about the BJP government, led by Vasundhara Raje. The public is seeking answers from the government and wants to teach a lesson. The government is misusing public money for political benefits. Officers are being pressured to bring the beneficiaries of government schemes to the meeting place,” said Gehlot.

Pilot said that the CM has been sleeping for four and a half years. “The situation of the state got worse and now the CM is travelling to save the government,” said Pilot.

Pilot also alleged that the CM has humiliated every section. “Now the people want change,” he added. On being asked if the BJP MLA from Shiv assembly constituency Manvendra Singh is joining the Congress, Pilot ignored the question.
