AHMEDABAD: Gujarat CID crime on Wednesday morning detained seven persons including dismissed IPS Sanjeev Bhatt in a case relating to planting of drugs to fix the complainant in 1998 in Palanpur town of Gujarat. Gujarat CID crime said Sanjeev Bhatt including seven could be arrested soon based on the evidence gathered by them until now. It is worthy to mention that Police Inspector Vyas who a then a Police Sub Inspector and now a retired Police Inspector has also been detained.
CID crime sources said the complainant had approached the court asking for an inquiry in the case. "The court had ordered an investigation in the case which was done by Gujarat CID Crime. We have conducted the investigation and gathered enough prima facie evidence to summon them for questioning" added a senior CID crime official.

It is important to state that the administration had pulled down illegal construction on Sanjeev Bhatt's bungalow located at Memnagar area of the city. According to administration the illegal extension was constructed in margin space of the bungalow which is located a Sushilnagar Co-operative society.

CID crime sources said while the questioning of Sanjeev Bhatt and others is being conducted the entry to the fourth and fifth floor of the DGP office where the office of CID crime is located is restricted.

CID crime sources said Sanjeev Bhatt and others who have been brought for questioning could be arrested soon and will be produced in the court.
