Younger Is Moving to the Paramount Network for Season 6

Younger is on the move. When the comedy series returns for Season 6 next year, it leave its longtime home on Viacom-owned TVLand for the Paramount Network, the cable conglomerate's new-ish flagship channel, the network announced Wednesday. Younger is the fourth TVLand show to move to Paramount after American Woman and the since-canceled Heathers and Nobodies, but is by far the highest-profile show to get shuffled. Its recently-completed fifth season was its highest-rated yet, and it has a dedicated fanbase.

It will be joined by another new series from creator Darren Star, Emily in Paris, which got an order for a ten-episode first season. The dramedy follows the adventures of a young woman from the midwest named Emily who moves to Paris to bring an American perspective to a French marketing firm.

Younger stars Sutton Foster, Hilary Duff, Debi Mazar, Miriam Shor and Nico Tortorella and tells the story of Liza (Foster), who lied about her age to land her dream job at a publishing house and has to keep the plates spinning to protect her secret.

Both series will air on Thursdays, with Emily in Paris coming in the spring and Younger Season 6 taking over its timeslot in the summer. That Thursday timeslot belongs to half-hour dramedies, as the network's First Wives Club series christens it this winter.

Ultimately the network change probably won't matter all that much, since Younger is the kind of show people watch on Hulu anyway.
