JAIPUR: Two passengers were detained by the customs authorities at Jaipur airport for possessing Rs 24 lakh on Tuesday morning.
They were quizzed about the source of the money but failed to give a convincing answer. Customs officials have not ruled out the possibility of
Hawala trade behind the seizure. They have also intimated the income tax authorities about it.
According to airport sources, the passengers arrived at the Jaipur airport in the morning from Kolkata. “While their baggage was being checked we found nearly Rs 24 lakh. They failed to give a convincing reply about the source of the money. They are under interrogation,” said an officer.
