LUCKNOW: On its first anniversary, Lucknow Metro will give Lucknowites the gift of an
app to make their Metro experience better.
With the app on their phone, anyone would be able to locate the nearest Metro station, fares, train timings and directions. The app can be downloaded for free. It will be launched by chief minister Yogi Adityanath at a function to mark the anniversary, to be known as Metro Diwas, on Wednesday.
The app has been developed to apprise commuters about the features of the Metro and how to use them, said an official of Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC). Users will also be able to recharge their Metro GoSmart cards using credit and debit cards and net banking.
The app has also been integrated with the government of India’s ‘Chalo App’, which integrates all modes of public transport into a single live-tracking and journey planning tool for a city.
Along with being a Metro journey aide, the app will also act as a guide for Lucknow. Information on Lucknow’s history and a tour guide for travellers and tourists visiting the city have also been installed on the app.
