One more wellness centre under the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) has been sanctioned to the city.
Announcing this at a media conference at the BJP’s new office near Lawson’s Bay Colony Park here on Tuesday, The MP said the second CGHS wellness centre in the city would benefit a large number of employees and retired staff of Central government organisations and departments, adding that the location for the project would be decided later.
“The wellness centre will be manned by two medical officers, a nursing officer and two pharmacists. The first wellness centre is operating from the premises of Government Hospital for Mentally Challenged and more than ₹5 crore has been spent on providing medicines to the patients free of cost in the last one year,” he told the media.
Meanwhile, Mr. Haribabu announced that he would contribute his one month’s salary and ₹20 lakh from his MP Local Area Development Fund for the relief and rehabilitation works in flood-hit Kerala. BJP and BJYM workers have also raised ₹1.05 lakh from the citizens and it would be sent to Kerala CM’s Distress Relief Fund. MLA P. Vishnu Kumar Raju would also donate his one month’s salary to Kerala.
Railway zone
Mr. Haribabu released a report card on his fourth year as an MP. He reiterated that the separate railway zone for Visakhapatnam would materialise during his current term.
ESI hospital
Mr. Haribabu further said a decision on the suitability of the 8.5 acres allotted for the 500-bed ESI Hospital proposed at Sheelanagar was yet to be taken. BJP city president M. Nagendra and State secretary Kasi Viswanadha Raju were among those present.
