The State government, reacting to the verdict, said that students and parents were aware that taking admission in these institutions was clearly a gamble.
Health Minister K.K. Shylaja told presspersons here that the State government had done allotments to these colleges as per the High Court order. A solution to the current uncertainty could be found only on Thursday when the Supreme Court delivers its final verdict.
Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Rajeev Sadanandan said all students and parents had been instructed to take admission in other medical colleges as far as possible, because of the reigning uncertainty regarding the case of these four self-financing medical colleges.
“We are hoping that any student who stood a chance for admission in other medical colleges will not have sought admission in these four institutions. So there is a chance that the current spot admission list would not have to be cancelled. However, we suspect that the entire dental college spot admission list would have to be set aside as all those who got displaced from the list will now opt for BDS courses,” he said.
