Two persons have been arrested on Sunday for allegedly committing burglary at a store in Dwarka Sector 23, the police said on Tuesday.
DCP (Dwarka) Anto Alphonse said Amit alias Happy forced his friends — Shiv Shankar Pandey and Shashi — to commit burglary at a general store in Dhul Siras village on August 31. The third accused is absconding, he added.
The trio stole a car, eatables, a television, cash and a passbook from the store, the police said.
“Amit was working with an online marketing company in Bamnoli village. He met a girl and got married after which his parents disowned him. He then needed money to fulfil his needs,” Mr. Alphonse said.
Amit allegedly asked his Shiv, who works in the same company and Shashi to burgle the shop. After the loot, the trio fled the spot in a car that was parked outside, the police said.
Following this, the store owner approached the police after which a case was registered.
During investigation, the police received a tip-off stating that Amit was roaming around in a stolen car.
A trap was laid following which Amit and Shiv were arrested. “Shiv had decided to help Amit and also wanted to earn quick money,” Mr. Alphonse added.
