NEW DELHI: The IT major stock Infosys hit a new all-time high of Rs 748.35 on the BSE in Tuesday's intra-day trade as the scrip went ex-bonus in the ratio 1:1.

The IT firm in its first quarter result had approved issuance of one free share for every share held (1:1 bonus issue) in July, this year. The issue of bonus shares was to celebrate the 25th year of the company’s public listing in India.

The stock opened at Rs 723.70 on Tuesday morning, gaining a per cent above its previous closing mark and extended its gain to hit the new peak.

At 12.10 pm, the stock was up 3.73 per cent at Rs 743.50.

Rival IT stocks were also in the positive with TCS and Wipro gaining close to 2 per cent and 1.5 per cent, respectively, in mid-day trade. The Nifty IT sub-index was up 2.27 per cent.

The broader index was flat and trading on a volatile note, under pressure from high crude oil price and global cues.

In the first quarter, Infosys reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 3,612 crore, up 3.7 per cent in the same quarter last year.
