Passenger caught with 2 bullets in bag at IGIA

A Ranchi-bound passenger, carrying two live bullet rounds in his baggage at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) was apprehended by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

According to CISF official, security personnel posted at the baggage scanning point detected a bullet-like objects on the x-ray monitor on Sunday while checking the bag of passenger A K Sinha.

"During the proper search of the baggage two live bullet rounds of 0.32 mm calibre were recovered from the passenger who was travelling to Ranchi," said the official.

"We have handed over the accused to Delhi police after he could not produce any documents for carrying the ammunition. He was on way to board the flight when he was caught. The man is booked under sections of the Arms Act," said an official.

According to Airport rules, only bonafide passengers can carry one licensed revolver or pistol or a shotgun while traveling. The passenger is also allowed to carry fifty cartridges in registered baggage after checking them at the check-in counter. Along with that, you are also required to fill a form which should be verified by the Airport Manager.
