Vig traces Rs 94 lakh bungling in S’garh WSC

The Sundargarh Vigilance police have initiated an inquiry into misappropriation of funds by  the  officials  of Watersheds and Soil Conservation Department in Kutra area by preparing  false bills and  vouchers  and  withdrawing amounts near about Rs 94 lakh.

According to  sources, the Watershed and Soil Conservation Department in Kutra  block under

Project  Director, Soil Conservation and Watershed Development, had finalized  to  do  RCC ring wells and cashew  plantation  for  44  persons  in the block.

Acting on input that without providing this  to the beneficiaries, huge amount of fund was misappropriated by the officials, the Sundargarh Vigilance  initiated an inquiry and  found that  without

doing  RCC ring wells and cashew  plantation for  44 beneficiaries, about Rs 93,37,186 was misappropriated by the concerned officials by preparing false bills and vouchers during the  financial years 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18.

Physical verification was also conducted by the Vigilance team.

According to the Vigilance  sources, seven files of RCC ring well of Rs 30,37,247 and four files  of cashew  plantation of Rs 62,99,939 amounting to total Rs 93,37,186 have been opened after initiating an inquiry.

The Sundargarh Vigilance has sent the details to the SP, Vigilance, Sambalpur  Division for  further action.
