HYDERABAD: The verdict in the 2007 Lumbini-Gokul Chat twin blasts, which claimed 44 lives, is expected to be given on Tuesday. The verdict was supposed to be given on August 27, but the judge deferred this to Tuesday.
The fate of five accused - Aneeq Shafique Sayeed, Mohammed Akbar Ismail Chowdhari, Farooq Sharfuddin Tarkash, Mohammed Sadiq Israr Ahmed Shaik and Tareeq Anjum -- who have been in jail for the last several years, will be decided on Tuesday.

The accused are presently lodged in Cherlapally jail. The in-charge judge for the II Additional Metropolitan Sessions court is expected to give the verdict at the special court arranged inside Cherlapally jail.

The investigation agency concluded that the blasts were the handiwork of Indian Mujahideen (IM) operatives and arrested five persons. Three other accused, including IM founding member Riyaz Bhatkal and his brother Iqbal Bhatkal, were named as absconding accused.
