Leader of the Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta took on Delhi Government alleging that it failed to disclose the names of ration card holders whose names were wrongly rejected.

The Delhi Government has ordered restoration of 2 lakh 53 thousand ration cards cancelled by the 'Food and Supplies Department' (F & S) catering to 7 lakh ration units. However, when the department asked the Government to forward the names of ration card holders in writing whose cards were rejected wrongly, the Government including the Chief Minister, Ministers and AAP legislators have not given even a single name on record, he said.

He said that ration can be provided to 72 lakh 78 thousand persons in the city. Out of which 7 lakh people were not eligible for ration and their ration cards were cancelled by the F & S department, he said.

Gupta further said that the Government first implemented e-Pos scheme to remove fake ration cards. When large number of ineligible ration cards was identified through this scheme, it dumped the scheme and supported the move "Remove Eligible Ration Cards - Restore Fake Ration Cards".
