Group clash in NSpur: Youth killed

A youth died and another sustained critical injuries in a clash between two groups in Narasinghpur of Cuttack district late on Sunday night.

Earlier in the evening, there was a heated exchange of words between the rival groups of Maniabandha and Bindharia villages at the Nuapatna market over ganja smuggling. After returning to their respective villages, the two groups challenged each other over mobile phones for a faceoff.

Some youths of Maniabandha reached Bindharia late in night, which was followed by hurling of crude bombs by the groups at each other.

While Vikash Sahu (25) of Bindharia died in the incident, one Indramani Seth was grievously injured and admitted to the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack.

Police detained four persons in connection with the incident for questioning.
