Amit Shah to visit election-bound Rajasthan on September 11

BJP president Amit Shah will attend four programmes being organised by the party during his one-day visit to Jaipur on September 11, the party’s Rajasthan unit chief Madan Lal Saini said on Monday..

Saini said the Birla Auditorium at Statue Circle and SMS Investment Ground at Ambedkar Circle will host two programmes each.

The BJP national president will address around 5,000 party workers from Jaipur division’s Shakti Kendras (covering five to seven booths each) at Ambedkar Circle. At the same venue, Shah will later address around 2,000 elected representatives of urban local bodies from the BJP. In the other two programmes at Birla Auditorium, the party national president will address around 2,000 intellectuals from different fields.

Saini said BJP workers on motorcycles will welcome Shah in Jaipur on September 11 and will escort him to these venues. “He will offer prayers at Moti Doongari Ganesh temple before coming for the Shakti Kendra Sammelan,” Saini added.

The Rajasthan BJP president also used the occasion to attack Congress and said that the party can conduct any ritual it wants but nothing will work for them. Saini was referring to the leader of opposition Rameshwar Dudi’s statement on Sunday that farmers will take an oath with water from their local wells, ponds, canals and rivers to oust the BJP from the state.

“People rejected the Congress from the state and the country for their corruption. To overcome this, the party is resorting to such rituals but let me tell you nothing will work,” Saini said at a press conference at the state BJP office.

“In a democracy, people are powerful. They have forced the Congress to visit temples,” he added.

“Congress is rattled by the response the Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra has received in two divisions (Udaipur and Jodhpur),” Saini said.
