LUDHIANA: Burglars struck at a garment shop in Ramesh Nagar of Tibba Road early on Monday.

Mohammad Miraz, owner of Asad Fashion Hut which was inaugurated a month ago, told the police that he had closed his shop around 9.30pm on Sunday. “When I reached here around 8.30am, I found the shutter locks broken and the shop ransacked. Thieves have stolen everything,” he said in his police complaint.

CCTV cameras installed in the area have captured a white car roaming around the garment shop around 2am. “The footage is grainy and has not clearly captured the car’s registration number,” said a cop.

“I have suffered a loss of Rs 2 lakh. Thieves made off with garments and Rs 15,000 cash,” Miraz told the police.

A case has been registered under sections 457 (trespassing) and 380 (theft) of the IPC.
