GURUGRAM: A 19-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging herself from the
ceiling fan in her apartment in an upscale condominium in Sector 90 on Sunday. The deceased was facing multiple health problems that had also resulted in her have
depression. She had been under treatment for some time.
The girl, Neelam, originally from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, was living with her sister and brother-in-law in New Uptown Heights in Sector 90 for the past one year. She was in the XII standard and being schooled through the distance learning program. Her
parents had separated some time back and that’s when she moved to the city.
According to police on Sunday night she was sitting with her sister and brother-in-law when she went inside her room and locked it. When she didn’t come out of the room for a long time they knocked on her door and on getting no response they went to the balcony to sneak into the room through a window and found her hanging from the ceiling fan with a dupatta. “We were alerted about the suicide through the control room and a team was rushed to the spot,” said the police officer adding that after recording the statement of the family members body was sent for post-mortem.
