Minor lynched for attempting theft in North West Delhi

A 16-year-old boy was lynched by locals of North West Delhi's Mukundpur area in the early hours of Tuesday for allegedly attempting theft at a house in the area. 

Deputy Commissioner of Police (North West) Aslam Khan said that the boy was caught by the owners of the house after which he was thrashed by neighbours among others leading to his death.

The incident took place around 3:30 am but was reported early morning.

Police said three persons have been arrested in connection with the case while three others are absconding.

The victim's body has been shifted to Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital for post mortem and a case under relevant sections is being registered at Bhalaswa Dairy Police Station. 

The victim was living in a rented accommodation with his brother, the police said.
