Vadodara: When students and teachers across all education institutes will be celebrating teachers’ day on Wednesday, teachers of M S University’s Faculty of Technology and Engineering (FTE) will be staging a protest by wearing black ribbons at the Kalabhavan campus.
The Technology Teachers Forum (TTF) has decided to protest non-implementation of the fifth pay and the sixth pay career advancement scheme (CAS) at the faculty by gathering near the flag post of the faculty and wearing black ribbons.
According to TTF, teachers of the faculty are deprived of CAS and other benefits by the university, the directorate of technical education and Gujarat government.
“All teachers of our faculty have not got their due promotions since 2000. Even as our teachers have met all the stringent academic requirements including PhD, those teachers who had joined with PhD in the year 2000 are still serving as lecturers at our faculty as CAS has not been implemented,” said TTF secretary AS Mohite.
“Teachers with similar qualifications, who have joined other faculties of the university have become professors and some of them have even reached to the level of dean. But teachers at our faculty are highly demoralised due to the indifferent attitude and step motherly treatment of the university authorities,” he said.
