Raj’s goal gives Kalmadi School victory

PUNE: A solitary goal from Raj Rajput helped Dr Kalmadi Shamarao High School to secure a 1-0 victory over Sinhgad City School in the Under-14 category Zilla Parishad Football Tournament at PDFA Football Grounds in Dobarwadi on Monday.

Raj found out the net in the eight minute of the match which set up the victory for  Kalmadi boys.

Earlier, Vidya Bhavan High School scored a half dozen of goals to crush Sevasadan English Medium School 6-0. 

Harsh started the proceedings for Viday Bhawan with netting a goal in the third minute, two minutes later Tanishq made it 2-0.

Goals kept on coming for Vidya Bhawan School as two quick goals from Swaraj Sapkal and Darsh Desai gave them 4-0 lead.

Swaraj scored in 8th minute while Darsh netted a goal in 9th minute. In the 17th minute, Harsh was once again in action as he completed a brace scoring his second goal.

With nothing going right for the Sevasadan boys, Kshitij Kokate’s goal in 20th minute added more misery to Sevasadan’s squad as Vidya Bhavan School completed an easy victory.

In the first match of the day,  St. Francis De Sales School (SFS) defeated New India School 3-0.

After goalless nineteen minutes, St. Francis boys came out with the attacking approach and netted three goals in the span of six minutes. It all began with Piyush Chaudhary scoring a first goal in the 20th minute. 

Next two goals were scored by Aman Ovahal and Raj Kalal in 23rd and 26th minute respectively as St. Francis completed easy win.
