BJP national secretary Suresh Pujari has demanded a CBI or CB (Crime Branch) inquiry into the murder of Parshuram Pradhan, a former Sarpanch cum a RTI activist of Chamarda village of Naktideul block.

“Pradhan was murdered since he tried to open the mask of some persons and the Cooperative Department officials in particular. Most surprisingly, the persons who have murdered Pradhan had neither any link with the incident nor had they any enmity with him. But they had simply been utilised by people whose interest was being hampered due to Pradhan’s action,” alleged Pujari while addressing the mediapersons here on Sunday.

“The persons behind the murder need to be brought to light than the persons who have really killed Pradhan,” demanded Pujari.

Pujari further said that the cooperative society secretary has swindled crores of rupees. At the same time false loans have been given to farmers but in reality they are not the beneficiaries. Rather, the cooperative secretary and his henchmen are the real beneficiaries and Pradhan wanted to bring these people to light, including their misdeeds and corruptions, said Pujari.

Pujari, in a letter to the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, has also appealed to unearth the scandal for which Pradhan was fighting and ultimately lost his life.

He further appealed to the CM to ensure the real culprits are brought to book in the case as the practical murderers are the hired ones and the conspirators are still at large.

Pujari in his letter further writes, “In the present circumstances, an investigation by the local police may not do justice. But I know you are usually not appreciating any CBI enquiry. Hence, a Crime Branch inquiry can do justice to the departed soul of Pradhan.”

He further demanded before the CM to confiscate property of the alleged officials of the cooperative department seized by the Vigilance and return the money to the poor farmers of the village.
