JAIPUR: Twenty-two-year-old
Shaqeel Khan had been drinking and thinking of the rejection he faced from the 21-year-old girl who said no to his marriage proposal. Heart-broken Shaqeel was also angry and that’s when he planned to eliminate the girl. This was revealed by the Jaipur police after the arrest of Shaqeel while interrogating him over the brutal stabbing of the girl and her mother.
According to police, Khan came to India on August 20 from
Saudi Arabia where he was working as a sign-board painter. He was into a one-sided affair with the girl while she was in school and visiting
Amagarh area where he lived.
“Five days ago he had proposed her and asked if she can marry him. To this the girl clearly denied and said she will marry wherever her mother and father will wish. Since then he was dejected and could not bear this. In the interrogation he said that he wanted to kill the girl. During boozing when he got high he planned to eliminate her. He brought a knife from his house and directly rushed to the girl’s home and attacked,” said a senior police officer of Galta Gate police station.
Police further stated the accused was angry to an extent that the deceased girl Khushnaseeba had sustained seven sharp injuries on her neck. “After the arrest he is being interrogated for the recovery of the weapon. It is learnt that he had thrown it away from the spot,” the officer added.
Body of Khushnaseeba was sent to the members of her family after the post-mortem. On the condition of her mother the officer said, “The woman is in a critical condition with grave injuries.”
Police added that a case of trespass and
murder has been lodged against the accused.
On Sunday evening Shaqeel had barged into the Nagtalai situated house of the girl where he had stabbed her along with her mother. The girl succumbed to her injuries while the mother is undergoing treatment.
