HYDERABAD: With indications of early polls to the Assembly, the Telangana BJP will kick off its election campaign either on September 12 or 15 in Mahbubnagar district. BJP national president Amit Shah will begin the campaign in the state and a detailed programme is being chalked out by the leaders.

BJP state president K Laxman said the party was ready to face elections at any time sans any alliance. "BJP national executive, which will meet in Delhi on September 8 and 9, will also discuss the poll strategy to be adopted in Telangana. Shah told us that he would focus on Telangana," Laxman told the media on Monday.

Laxman said that national leaders and leaders from other states like Karnataka will tour Telangana and attend public meetings in all 119 Assembly constituencies. He added that BJP would make miracles and secure power in Telangana like Assam. "Karnataka leader BL Santosh would be the in-charge and would stay in the state till elections are held," he said.

He said people are vexed with the four-and-half years' misrule of the TRS government which had colluded with the Majlis party. "Disillusioned with the pink party, people are looking at BJP as the only alternative. KCR spoke about Federal Front but is not doing so anymore. HD Kumaraswamy aligned with the Congress and shared power in Karnataka on KCR's advise," he alleged.

On TRS' Pragathi Nivedana Sabha, Laxman termed it utter flop despite much publicity. "The party should now realise it is not easy to mobilise public support with tweets and money. TRS claimed 25 lakh people would attend the public meeting but according to estimates, not more than three lakh attended. In UP, BJP held a publicity meet where people came on their own expense and brought their food. Even PM Modi brought food from his house," he said.

He criticised the government for its unkept promises and KCR's 50 minutes speech was bundle of lies. BJP leaders N Ramchander Rao, Chinta Samba Murthy, Premender Reddy and Krishnasagar Rao were present.
