Vadodara: A police constable of Dahod police committed suicide at his house in police quarters in Dahod town on Sunday. Police identified the deceased as Vinod Baria (28)
The body of Baria was found by the cops living in his neighbourhood. Baria had hanged himself with a wire at the entrance of his house sometime in the wee hours of Sunday. Police said that Baria, who originally hails from Shehra taluka of Panchmahal, had been working in Dahod police since the past eight years.
Baria was posted at Dahod police headquarters, but had not reported to duty since almost four months, said police officials. “He would have taken the extreme step due to some family problems back home, but the exact reason cannot be ascertained, as he was unmarried and living alone in Dahod,” said a police official.
After conducting a post-mortem, Baria’s body was handed over to his family members.
