The court of additional district judge -X, Anuj Singh sentenced a 28-year-old man, Sandeep Tiwary, to life imprisonment on finding him guilty in a murder case. His elder brother Dhiraj Tiwary and sister-in-law Pushpa Tiwaryhave also been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in the same case.

A resident of Bagbera Colony, Sandeep had allegedly forced his wife Bharti Devi to commit suicide at his house on September 5, 2014. The police had arrested Sandeep, his brother and sister-in-law under IPC Section 304 (B) after the murder victim's brother Ghanshyam Ojha had lodged an FIR with the Bagbera thana the day Bharti Devi had committed suicide.

According to prosecution, Bharti (25) might have committed suicide as she was being subjected to unnatural sex. A post-mortem report had also suggested about the young woman being subjected to brutal unnatural sex.

Sandeep's brother Dhiraj Tiwary and sister-in-law Pushpa were convicted and sentenced because they would demand dowry from the victim.
