Security forces on Sunday launched a search operation in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir following an exchange of fire with militants, the police said.
The forces came under fire while laying a cordon at Imamsahib after recieving information about the presence of militants, a police officer said.
The forces then retaliated. “Search operations have been launched and the cordon has been strengthened, but there has been no fresh firing,” the officer said.
