Heavy rains lashed different parts of Uttar Pradesh today throwing life out of gear in many cities. Incessant rain created flood like situation in western part of state. 20 people lost their life in rain related incidents in the past 24 hours.
AIR correspondent reports that 7 persons including 5 children, one teen age boy and a woman died after lightening struck them in Shahjahanpur district. 3 people each lost their life in sitapur and Shravasti districts in incidents of wall collapse.
In the western part of state almost all rivers are in spate after heavy rains in the region and water coming from hills of Uttarakhand. Ganga and it’s tributaries along with Ramagnga, Kali and other rivers are wreaking hevok in Bijnaour Muradabad, Amroha, Sambhal, Rampur and Badayun districts. In Badayoon district, datagah tehsil is worst hit by flood where many villages are marooned.
Irrigation minister of the state dharmpal singh visited the area and took a stock of the situation. There is also no let up is the flood situation in districts along with Ghaghra and Sharda rivers inTarai and Eastern parts.
