CEC inaugurates SVEEP photo-exhibition

Chief Election Commissioner Om Prakash Rawat inaugurated the photo-exhibition of Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme organized in state of Chhattisgarh on Friday after his arrival at New Circuit House, Raipur.

The photographs kept in exhibition are related to the Voters awareness campaign launched in the state by office of Chief Electoral Officer and District Electoral Offices. Rawat also inspected the exhibition accompanied Election Commissioners duo Sunil Arora and Ashok Lavasa, other senior ECI officials and CEO Chhattisgarh Subrat Sahoo. Sahoo briefed him on the different aspects of election related awareness programme conducted in the state.

The exhibition had electoral literacy club, Activity for Youth, SVEEP activity, differently able, third gender and senior citizen targeted awareness related activities.

On the occasion, Chief Election Commissioner and other officials also released the Compendium of Training Instructions and SVEEP Action Plan published by Chhattisgarh CEO Office. The CEC also unveiled the theme for state general election related works and activities, “Sugam; Sugghar, Samaveshi” (Accessible, Comfortable, Inclusive) .

Earlier, Om Prakash Rawat, Chief Election Commissioner on Friday at 8.00 am arrived at Raipur in 8.00 am regular flight. He was accorded warm welcome by Chief Electoral Officer Subrat Sahoo at Swami Vivekananda Airport, Mana. Additional CEO Dr S Bharatidasan, Election related nodal officer cum Inspector General of Police Raipur Dipanshu Kabra, Raipur collector Dr S Basavaraju accorded welcome to the Election Commission officials.

On September 1, Chief Election Commissioner would hold meeting of excise, income tax, police and other related departments from 9.30 to 10.30 am in a private hotel based at Jail road, Raipur.
